Sedia Bayo founder/leader of National Transitional Council for The Gambia NTCG, Political Activist, and Philanthropist has Monday December 11, 2017 been arraigned before Justice Buba Jawo of the High Court in Banjul to answer to a judgement debtor’s filed against him by Coco Ocean Resort and Spa.
The case was in relation to the sum of D1,709,522.45 entered against him on the 31st of July 2017 in a civil suit instituted by Coco Ocean against him and one Philippe Andre Raymond Piere Etiene.
Representing Coco Ocean Counsel Anna Njie applied for Bayo to be sworn and give evidence as well as to bring in proof of his financial status next hearing.
In his response Bayo asked the court for an adjournment till Thursday December 14, as he cannot access money from his bank account in France during the weekend and on Monday was a public holiday in France, and would need a legal representative.
Counsel Njie said it’s his (Bayo’s) constitutional right to be represented and also to provide the documents she requested from him, after the court registrar confirmed to the court that Bayo has met his bail conditions.
Counsel Njie then told the court to remind Bayo that he was asked to bring documents before the court on the next adjourn date.
Bayo assured the court that the requested documents and his representative will be available in court in the next hearing.
Case adjourned till Thursday 14th December, 2017 at 1pm.
