I don’t care if this abominable police officer is sacked. I don’t even care if he is tried for murder which should in fact happen right now!
What we need right now is a global action against the US Government and society as we did with the Myanmar Government in defense of the Rohingya! Right now the Blacks of the United States are in the same situation as the Rohingya in Myanmar! Both situations are nothing but pure Apartheid.
Yes the US Government has not denied African Americans citizenship. Yes the US Government has not deployed its military to massacre African Americans en masse at one go. Yes African Americans are not bundled in refugee camps in between the US border with Canada or Mexico.
But indeed the lives of each and every African American is at risk. They are targeted to be killed at any opportune moment available! They face this threat for no reason other than the colour of their skin and their identity as African Americans. The US Government has shown that it has a policy to destroy the lives of its African American citizens with impunity. This is Apartheid.
Therefore the world must not and cannot stand indifferent and in silence while in a particular country a certain group of citizens are refused their constitutional rights to exist on account of their race, origin and identity. That is Apartheid!.
Just as the world is protecting indigenous people and minorities around the world so must the United Nations and the EU and the AU and other regional and global bodies as well human rights organizations must stand up to make the security and safety of the lives of African Americans a global matter like climate change or peace to be addressed now.
Colin Kaepernick took a knee to send this message to the world yet until today a US Government police Officer can callously and conveniently stamp his bloody knee on the neck of an African American on the ground until he dies! If this Apartheid attitude is not a matter for the UN and the world then why not?
