The Honourable Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Gambians Abroad, Dr. Mamadou Tangara, Wednesday participated in a virtual conference organised by the Africa Peer Review Mechanism (APRM) with the aim of making follow –up on the various review missions carried out on some Member States in the context of Covid -19.
The conference is subsequent to the 19th May virtual conference during which revisions was conducted on the 2020 APRM work-plan and missions. Presentation on the Governance of Covid – 19 responses by the African Union Member States was also highlighted.
The APRM was established by the African Union in 2003 in the framework of the implementation of the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (NEPAD). It is a peer review mechanism that monitors governance and socio-economic development on the continent.
