The Gambia’s First Lady Fatou Bah -Barrow has received a donation of items from the First Lady of China. A total of 120 Infrared thermometers and 18,000 medical masks were presented to her through the Chinese Ambassador to The Gambia H.E Ma Jianchun.
According to the Ambassador, In recent years First lady, Bah-Barrow has made remarkable efforts in mobilizing nation-wide action on the AIDS prevention and more importantly, in promoting better care for the less advantaged group in society. Today’s donation of medical materials to her office is exactly intended to support such good effort and to practically help those most in need of protection amid the ongoing pandemic.

DPS First Lady’s office Ms Anna Jobe said Coronavirus is not just a health problem, it has caused a lot of grief around the world and has negative impacts on all countries. She applauded China’s role in the fight against the coronavirus while extending special thanks to her Her Excellency Peng Liyuan for her valuable assistance given to African First Ladies through the Organization OAFLAD.
”The assistance given to the Gambia only confirm the existing friendly relation between The Gambia and China, and wish to reconfirm our willingness to continue the work together for the benefit of our peoples.” she remarked.
