Senegal’s president Macky Sall has gone into self-isolation for the next 15 days, after coming into contact with two people who tested positive for the Coronavirus, Senegal’s two major online newspapers Senego and Limameti have reported.
According to the earlier mentioned websites, the information was announced on Senegal’s national television RTS1. It is said that the president, Macky Sall will go into quarantine for 15 days.
Earlier on Tuesday, Senegalese media have reported that Mbaye Ndiaye, a Presidential Adviser and his family have been tested positive for COVID-19.
In a similar development, Major Moussa Diop, director of Cabinet at the Senegalese Ministry of Interior has died after contracting the new coronavirus infection on Tuesday, 24th June 2020.
Information from Senegalese media has it that the entire staff of the Interior Ministry’s Cabinet including the minister Aly Ngouye Ndiaye have been quarantined.
