After an audience with President Barrow to bid him farewell, marking the end of her diplomatic tour of duty in The Gambia, the Outgoing British High Commissioner to The Gambia, H.E Sharon Wardle expressed optimism that the future looks prosperous for the country.
“We have seen and been through a lot over the past three years. Of course, many challenges remain but I am optimistic about the future.” She noted.
The British diplomat arrived in The Gambia in 2017 when the country was starting its transitional journey process.
To ensure the investment made by the Gambian people and International friends and partners yield the future that is wanted and deserved, High Commissioner Wardle implored on all Gambians to see to the continuation of the transitional process.
Due to the unprecedented challenges of COVID19, she said the next 12-18 months will be crucial to The Gambia but assured that The UK will continue to render its unflinching support to the transition journey.
