The Gambia Democratic Party (GDC) party has expelled two councillors: Alhagie Sowe of Jabang Ward in the West Coast Region and Omar Baldeh of Sareh Soffie Ward in the Central River Region.
A leaked expulsion letter addressed to Alhagie Sowe, Councillor of Jabang Ward, making rounds on social media, dated 2nd July 2020, stated that his expulsion is as a result of his recent activities which are contrary to the objectives of the GDC party.
The said leaked letter is signed by Samba Baldeh, senior Admin Secretary of the GDC and copied to the Independent Electoral Commission (IEC).
MC Cham Jnr, the National Youth President of GDC also posted on his Facebook page, news of the sacking of the two councillors.
