H.E President Adama Barrow is currently presiding over a Cabinet session on several papers, including seeking provisional approval for proposed Bills to improve the policy environment in governance.
Ministry of Finance leads the presentations on Bills to enhance Public-Private Partnership, Capital Market and State-Owned Enterprises, as wells as Agreements between the Government of the Republic of The Gambia and the United Arab Emirates on investments and taxes on income and capital.
Also, the Ministry of Health will seek provisional approval for a National Health Insurance Scheme Bill.
A presentation of a report from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and a proposal for Reform and Restructuring of the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Welfare are on the Cabinet agenda.
Additionally, the Office of the Vice President responsible for the Civil Service Reform will share information on the Outcome of 2019 Staff Audit Exercise as well as present on the Restructuring of the Secretarial Cadre of the Civil Service.
As part of the agenda, the Ministry of Information and Communication Infrastructure will share information on a proposal to Declare The Gambia Submarine Cable Zone a Protected Zone.
Meanwhile, a paper on the Establishment of The Gambia University of Science, Engineering and Technology (USET) and Gambia Institute of Public Administration and Management (GIPAM) is also set for presentation.
The planned Cabinet agenda also includes presentations from the Ministry of Justice on 2020 Bills on Election and another one on Vetting.
