The Gambia Police Force (GPF) has today, 21st May 2021 announced the arrest of 56 suspected criminals at a forest between Brufut and Madiana in the Kombo North District of West Coast Region.The arrest of the suspects came following the decision of the Police High Command of West Coast Region under the leadership of the Regional Police Commissioner, Pateh Jallow, to conduct a robust patrol at the Brufut and Madiana forest, amidst reports of criminal activities within and around the forest, a press release from the GPF stated.
“The patrols were equally expanded to the coastal beaches and criminal hideouts leading to the arrest of 56 suspects currently helping with investigations. Majority of the suspects are non Gambians and as a result they are handed over to the Immigration Department for appropriate actions,” the release concludes.
