First of all I believe in women empowerment and that’s the reason why we are training 70 women for the peacekeeping mission in The Gambia”, said Ann Kristin.
Furthermore we never know who might be part of the next peacekeeping mission in Sudan or any country where you can restore a smile back to their country. Therefore you all are role models to the entire nation,” she mentioned.
Speaking on behalf of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), the Deputy IGP Momodou Sowe said: “I am a feminist because I believe in woman empowerment and I love to see women at the top. Though the training will be intensive, be patient and be prepared to achieve your goals ,” said Sowe.
He added that many officers from the police department applied for this training, “out of all the applicants only 70 were selected, however this doesn’t mean that the selected ones are the most intelligent but they’re the few lucky ones,” said Sowe.
Sowe finally thanked the United Nations and advised participants to take the training seriously and do their utmost best to achieve the best result
