Following the outbreak of the Coronavirus in China, the Senegalese president Macky Sall has provided financial assistance to 13 Senegalese students stuck in Wuhan (China), the epicentre of the coronavirus epidemic. The Senegalese leader offered each of the students $1,000, or about 500 thousand Fcfa. This makes a total of 6,500,000 Fcfa. The ambassador of Senegal in China had already given them one (1) million Fcfa.
The revelation was made by the Secretary of State for Senegalese Abroad, Moise Sarr, in the columns of L’Observateur newspaper. He informs that the decision was taken, yesterday Thursday, to allow compatriots on the spot to get supplies in large quantities, in order to limit travel and to better comply with the measures taken by the Chinese authorities.
