Clarification on the state of public emergency
This is to further clarify that the state of public emergency declared by His Excellency the President pursuant to Section 34(1)(a) of the 1997 Constitution will last for 7 days.
This has been communicated to the Honourable Speaker of the National Assembly with a request for the National Assembly to extend same at the expiration of this period pursuant to Section 34(5) of the 1997 Constitution.
