New CDS assures President Barrow of the Military’s support in COVID-19 fight
In an audience with President Adama Barrow earlier today at the State House, the new Security Chiefs, Major General Yakuba A. Drammeh (CDS) and his Deputy, Brigadier General Mamat O. Cham assured the President that The Gambia Armed Forces is ready and willing to stand by Civil Authority in the fight against the global pandemic, COVID-19 in The Gambia.
The Army Chiefs equally updated the President on the situation at The Gambia Armed Forces and proposals under CDS Drammeh’s leadership, within the context of improving the structures and operations of the Army. In attendance were the Minister of Defence, Honourable Sheikh Omar Faye and Secretary General and Head of the Civil Service, Mr Mohamed S. Jallow.
