Narcotics Control Assistant Superintendent (NCAS) Mustapha Mamina Badjie, the Station Officer of the NDLEA in Burusbi has passed away Friday morning at the country’s main referral hospital (EFSTH) in Banjul.
According to a source at the NDLEA, the deceased and another individual (a civilian) were involved in a car accident last Friday around Sukuta-Brusubi area where they were hit by a vehicle.
“They sustained serious injuries and were rushed to Sukuta Health Center before referred to the Serrekunda Hospital in Kanifing. The civilian was discharged a day after the accident but Mamina Badjie was again referred to the Edward Francis Small Teaching Hospital where he was receiving treatment until he passed away this morning,” the source told The Digest News.
The source described Badjie as a hardworking and dedicated officer and added; “Burial will be done at his village in Sibanor in the West Coast Region.”
The spokesperson of the NDLEA Ousman Saidy Bah confirmed the news of Badjie’s death.
