Combating COVID-19: DOKU Group presents D5000 cheque, sanitary items to Kembujeh Ward Councilor

As the fight against COVID- 19 intensifies, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Doku Group has presented a cheque amounting to D5000, 24 T-Shirts, hand washing gallons, deterrents, etc, to Alieu K. Darboe, Kembujeh Ward Councilor through his foundation. The gesture is meant to support the Kembujeh Ward with sanitary items during these trying moments of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Presenting the donation, Galo Saidy, CEO of Doku Group noted that supporting people at these trying times is essential, adding that his company is here to share the little they have with Gambians from all walks of life.

“My company is a small one, we are trying to catch up, but that would not stop us from sharing the little we have with our fellow citizens,” he said.

CEO Saidy further stated that working with grass root politicians during this difficult period is one of their concerns and priorities. He expressed delight in giving out support to the Kembujeh Ward Councilor for onward distribution.

On his part, Alieu K. Darboe, the Councilor of Kembujeh Ward, who also doubles as the CEO and founder of a charity foundation, thanked the donors for their humanitarian gesture, noting that the Doku Group responded to his request within 48 hours.

“I am very grateful to the CEO and his staff for their support, trust and confidence bestowed on me,” he stated.

Darboe promised that the donation will be utilized for its intended purpose.
