After successfully completing the first leg of the ongoing Meet The People Tour, President Barrow arrived in the Kombos Thursday evening amidst a rousing welcome.
The first ten days in the regions of URR, CRR, LRR and NBR, were punctuated with frank discussions as well as the launch of several development projects by President Barrow. The President laid the foundation for three of six health centres while the construction of 18 health posts has begun. In addition, foundations were laid for the expansion of the School of Community Health Nursing in Mansakonko, LRR and School of State Enrolled Nurses in Bansang, CRR.
Additionally, the President presented the newly procured Community Ambulances to more than a dozen communities as well as farming equipment to enhance agricultural production.
He also presented cheques to Women’s groups as part of his government’s Women Empowerment Fund initiative.
President Barrow’s message was consistent throughout the tour, urging Gambians to support his development and highlighting the significant development initiatives his government has done since taking office. He said the projects are a fulfilment of a promise he made to Gambians, and that more will follow if he is re-elected.
In all the regions, the people hailed President Barrow for addressing most of their concerns while appealing for his government to invest more in good roads network, water and electricity.
The President will begin the second leg of the tour in Foni tomorrow, Saturday, *25th* September.
