The State Intelligence Services (SIS) of the Gambia has effected a major reshuffle among its top brass effective February 2022, this reporter has learned. The reshuffle involved some senior intelligence officers who were promoted while others were only transferred from one position or directorate to the other.
This development was effected in key areas of the country’s intelligence agency such as the State House, Internal and External Units, Analysis, SIS Admin, SIS Training Academy, Operations, etc.
Senior authorities have confirmed this new development in the latest shake-up at the SIS; Intelligence officer Omar Cham was transferred to External Operations, Omar Bojang alias Jabo was moved to State House as the new Director of Facilities, Lamin Hydara was transferred to the Technical Unit as Director, Lamin Marong who was at the State House was transferred to GamPetroleum, Saikou Samateh is now head of the External Directorate, Nuru Secka is moved to State House as the new Director of Intelligence, Timothy Colley has been transferred to the Training Academy, Dardo Njie has been transferred to the Counter-Terrorism Unit as Director, Ebrima N.A Camara is now head of Analysis. He replaces Lamin Dampha, who is sent to Nigeria for Studies, and Wassa Kassama is now the new Director of Admin.
“With this reshuffle, more effective service delivery is expected and hopefully many more challenges will be overcome,“ one of the senior authorities (name withheld) remarked.
