Stadium Investigative Panel Wants Voluntary Testimonies

By Bekai Njie

The Investigative Panel probing the overcrowding of the Independence Stadium has called on the general public, especially those with relevant information on the matter to come and testify before the committee.

The Executive Committee of The Gambia Football Federation (GFF) has set up the said committee in line with Article 59 of the GFF Constitution to identify the root cause of the stadium overcrowding during a football match between the Scorpions and Algeria on September 8, 2018.

The committee is set up to substantiate or otherwise the allegations made against the people charged with the responsibility of selling tickets; and make recommendations to deter a future occurrence.
The investigative panel wishes to further reassure the general public that it would leave no stone unturn in ensuring that it identifies the root cause of the stadium debacle and as a result, the observations made by the general public, if provided, would go a long way in achieving that objective, a release from The Gambia Football Federation House added.

The release went on, therefore anyone willing to give information on the subject matter can come to Football House on the aforesaid date at 10:00 a.m.
