Third Prosecution Witness in the alleged Sukuta-Jabang Traffic Lights shootings Testifies

As the Sukuta-Jabang Traffic Lights shootings hearing continues, earlier today, prosecution witness (PW3) one Mama Jabbi testified before Justice Jaiteh of the Banjul Hight Courts.

In her testimony PW3 told the court that she is a business woman and a marabout, that the first accused person Ousainou Bojang, met her at her compound in Jululung after seeking help from the Chief De garage of Jululung.

“ Ousainou met the Chief De Garage in Jululung and told him that he (Ousainou) was looking for help because something mistakenly happened. Then the Chief De Garage directed him to my house” she stated.

According to PW3, Ousainou ask her to help him with an amulet and money to go to Zinguinchor because he killed two police officers and the 3rd one is at the hospital.

Still testifying, PW3 said “after saying that, he (Ousainou) told me that he wants to perform ablution and pray. I gave him water and he performed ablution then I gave him a praying mat but he didn’t pray. He just sat on the praying mat and told me aunty help me because my life have been destroyed”.

PW3 further disclosed that she took a picture of Ousainou and an audio in an attempt to record him.

Explaining how Ousainou Bojang was arrested by the Senegalese police.

PW3 said, she called the Senegalese police and informed them that Ousainou is in her compound. “When I called the Senegalese police, I asked them whether they are aware of the killing that happened in The Gambia and they said yes. They further asked whether I have his picture and voice note I said yes and they asked me to send it to them. They then told me to sit and wait for them but shouldn’t make Ousainou know that they (Senegalese police) are coming for him. They then came, handcuffed his hands and took him away”, she stated.

PW3 said she later called one Musa Camara who is working at Gambia revenue authority and told him Ousainou is with her. Musa then told her to wait for him to call the police.  “I met with some Gambia police officers at Giboro then I left for Jululung with them” she said.

When asked what happened after she and The Gambia officers arrived at Jululung.

PW3 said that, they went to Jululung police and she left them there and sat somewhere else. After a brief discussion, both The Gambia and the Senegalese officers took a picture with Ousainou, then they (Senegalese officers) escorted Ousainou in their car to the border and handed him to The Gambia police officers then they left for The Gambia.

Appearances, AN Yusuph appeared for the state, Counsel Darboe for the first accused person (Ousainou Bojang) and LK Mboge appeared for the second accused person( Amie Bojang).

The case was adjourned to the 20th of November 2023 for cross examination by Counsel Darboe.
