“Let him resign and go and join any political party he wants, Mr. Jatta said. “Election mostly around the world can create lots of instability in a country where there is no credibility.”

In a press conference held at the party’s new political bureau in Manjai Kunda, he recalled that in the past Local Government Election of councilors, the IEC announced two results, first announcing 18 seats for the APRC and later announced 16 seats instead.

“There are lots of things that the IEC has done against this party,” he said, saying that in the interest of free, fair and credible election and the peace and stability of The Gambia, “we are calling on the IEC chairman to resign,” he said, further arguing he is being bias and has a political position.

The former majority leader of the National Assembly and member for Serekunda East lawmaker recalled that the IEC chairman was interviewed on The Gambia Radio and Television Services (GRTS) and said that he was happy that APRC is gone.

“The chairman should be independent and those remarks should not have come from him, Mr. Jatta queried.

He also expressed disappointment with the leader of the United Democratic Party (UDP), Lawyer Ousainou Darboe for saying that his party would celebrate the way APRC celebrates.

He also expressed disappointment with the security within Kanifing Municipality for having thrown tear gases inside his compound targeting the APRC top brasses.

The APRC leader stated that it is the responsible of the state and its machinery to protect lives and liberty of all those residing in The Gambia, arguing that in the absence of that protection, we reserve the rights for self-defence and if necessary, maximum retaliation.
