Gambian hip-hop star, Ali Cham, popularly called Killa Ace, has been nominated as Peace Ambassador for Peace December International, an international NGO based in the New York. This was disclosed in the nomination letter sent to the musician.

“…as I had indicated on the telephone, we are honored to nominate you our Peace December Ambassador,” declared Sheikh Musa Drammeh, the Chairman of Peace December International, in the nomination letter.

Drammeh described Killa Ace as a patriotic Gambian activist-artist, with intelligence and naturally endowed leadership skills.

“I have listened to some of your music and interviews, and it made me to hold you in a high regard as a Gambian patriotic activist artist,” said Drammeh.

“You are not only a talented artist, but you are also highly intelligent and well-spoken leader. I deeply admire your leadership sacrifices in uplifting our people and educating the youth about their God-given power to decide the future of the Gambia,” he added.

Drammeh further admonished Killa Ace to avoid propagating violent scenes in his music video and promote decency in his performances.

“While you continue to hone and perfect your artistic craft, …do not use provocative scenes that would justify the religious leaders and parents’ prohibitive positions on music and entertainment in general.

“Always insist on bringing out clean and decent performances. The most successful artists in the music industry, outside of today’s Hip Hop, insist on decency.

“You are bound to be very successful and powerful when you differentiate yourself from your industry colleagues’ indecent practitioners whose only objectives are monetary gains. Be cognizant of the fact that your purpose is greater than that,” Drammeh noted in the nomination letter sent to Killah Ace.

Peace December is an international non-governmental organization registered in the New York – the United States. It’s primarily established to advocate for peace in all forms from December to December.
