Hero’s welcome for SBEC International Robotics champions

The SBEC International’s Arabic and Junior School sections, have on Friday, organised a welcoming ceremony for their heroes who participated in this year’s World Roboters Festival in the US and emerged second out of 20 international schools. The heroes arrived Sunday evening, 23rd February at the Banjul International Airport and were accorded a hero’s welcome.

Friday was another day of celebration, as the heroes were given a warm welcome in a grand style at the SBEC International School. Mr. Mamadou Coly, Head of SBEC High School, accompanied by his deputy Mr. Pape Kebe, his colleague Mr. David Assue Haffner, head of SBEC College and Mr. Haruna Cham, SBEC Head of Department, who also doubles as the SBEC team’s  reporter, were well received by Mr. Momodou Salieu Jallow, Head of SBEC French and overseeing the SBEC Arabic Section.

After the SBEC Arabic Section, the team proceeded to SBEC International Junior School. There, they were received by Aunty Nada, head teacher and her deputy head pastoral Mr. Saikou Manneh.

 

 

 

 

It would be recalled that the school was represented in the competition by three students, namely; Abdoulie Njie, Form 4 student; Abdulkarim Demba, Form 2 student; and Malick Alasdair Jammeh, a Form 2 student; and were escorted by Hassan Sillah, a Physics teacher and IT manager at SBEC International.
