Gambia: Cabinet briefed on the Coronavirus preparedness

At a special cabinet meeting on Monday, the Minister of Health Dr Ahmadou Samateh updated the session on the state of preparedness to contain the Coronavirus.

Even though there are no confirmed cases in The Gambia, Dr Samateh stated that the Health Ministry is putting all measures in place to prevent and control an outbreak, despite reported cases across the border in Senegal.

Meanwhile, the Finance Minister Mambury Njie shared that Cabinet has discussed a paper on GPPA to eliminate single sourcing of major projects. This is to improve accountability in public procurement procedures and processes.

He also revealed that the Health Ministry is provided with resources in its preparedness to contain any possible outbreak.
