Gambia records 2 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 

Officials of the Ministry of Health have said that The Gambia has today registered two confirmed cases of COVID-19. According to the health authorities, one of the new cases (number 027) is a 20 year old Gambian boy who recently returned to the country after being in Guinea Bissau.

“He was taken into quarantine on the 5th June after being reported to the COVID-19 response team through the 1025 toll-free hotline. His sample was collected on the 6th of June and a positive test result was received on the 7th June”.

The officials also stated that the second new case (Case number 28 ), is a 38 year old Gambian man who recently returned to the country from Dakar, Senegal.

“He was taken into quarantine on the 5th June after being reported to the COVID-19 response team through the 1025 toll-free hotline. His sample was collected on the 6th of June and a positive test result was received on the 7th June.”
