Ambassador Fadera signs Condolence Book honouring former US Secretary of State Colin Powell

BANJUL, 20 October, 2021: The Ambassador of the Republic of The Gambia to the United States of America, His Excellency Dawda Docka Fadera, on Wednesday signed the condolence book honouring the life of the erstwhile United States Secretary of State, Honourable Colin Powell, who passed on Monday 18 October, 2021 as a result of complications from Covid-19.
“The late Honourable Colin Powell was a great American leader, served as a top soldier and diplomat and had admirably contributed significantly to global peace and security.
“On behalf of the Embassy of The Gambia to the United States, and the Government and people of The Gambia and on my own behalf, I extend sincere condolences to the Government and people of the United States, and the family of the deceased. May his gentle soul rest in eternal peace,” The Gambia’s Ambassador wrote on the condolence book placed at the State Department in Washington.
The late Honourable Colin Powell died at Walter Reed National Medical Centre at 84.
