Executive members of the UDP Women’s Wing are currently on a 10-day nationwide tour to meet supporters of the UDP and prepare ahead of the next presidential election.
The executive members on tour include Aji Mariam Secka, deputy party leader of the UDP, Aji Yamundow Yabo, Aji Sukaina Kah, Jonfolo Jabbi, Jainaba Kambi, Fatou Janneh, Jimbe Ceesay, Fatou Cham, etc.
The tour began on Friday, 5th March and the UDP Women’s Wing entourage had organized several meetings beginning from the North Bank Region. Meetings were held in Ndungu Kebbeh, Baddibou Noo Kunda, Farafenni, and in some communities in the Central River Region (CRR) North such as Niani Sukuta.
Speaking at a rally in Niani Sukuta, Aji Yam Secka, deputy party leader of the UDP said the UDP party leader Hon. Ousainou Darboe is leading the party in the right way and to the satisfaction of the entire membership. She called on Gambians to reward Ousainou Darboe for his efforts in the fight to liberate Gambians from dictatorship and the best way to reward him is to vote for him in the next presidential election.
Aji Yam Secka described Darboe as a man of integrity who love his country and worked hard for the people’s interest. She appealed to Gambians across the country to vote for Darboe to lead the country for continued development. She also urged members to continue to respect the rule of law as expected.
On her part, Jonfolo Jabbi, said the UDP has empowered women in politics and encouraged women to actively participate in politics. She encouraged supporters to register their children and families and vote for the UDP in the next election.
A prominent member of the APRC in Niani Sukuta, called Maddi Jobarteh also joined the UDP during its meeting in Sukuta. He was introduced to the women executive and the deputy party leader, Aji Yam Secka congratulated him for the decision taken and welcomed him to the party. She promised that Mr Jobarteh will be presented to the party leader Hon. Ousainou Darboe.
