A high-level delegation of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) comprising Tijan Bah, deputy director general, Pa Habibou Mbaye, Adviser to the NDLEA, Jim Drammeh, director of Operations and Ousman Saidy Bah, public relations officer of the country’s drug law agency have begun sensitization of drug law enforcement officers within the Kanifing Municipality and the West Coast Region.

The team visited NDLEA stations in the Kanifing Municipality such as Serrekunda, Bundung and other areas. On Wednesday, the team visited the West Coast Region beginning with New Yundum, Brikama and to Mandinaba in the Kombo East District.

The NDLEA senior officials briefed the officers to stay focus and always be on alert especially during this period of COVID-19 pandemic when the number of officers on patrol will be downsized and drug peddlers could use this period to smuggle drugs. They advised the officers to put in place effective and efficient plans, that are intelligence led and avoid any form of misconduct, citing an example of the case of their officer Lamin Sima, among other issues.

When contacted to shed light on the NDLEA tour of their units, the Spokesperson of the NDLEA Ousman Saidy Bah confirmed these meetings as reported.
